Your Optometrist, Dr. Mei Fleming

Dr. Mei Fleming is a therapeutic and glaucoma certified optometrist, trained to diagnose, manage and treat ocular diseases in adults and children. With experience in pediatrics, contact lenses, and glaucoma, she provides complete and quality eye care. Her expertise includes treating ocular surface diseases, such as dry eyes.

Long-time Lamorinda resident Dr. Fleming has been practicing optometry in several ophthalmology and optometry clinics in the East Bay for over 17 years. Previously the owner of Alamo Optometry, Dr. Fleming is the founder and principal optometrist at Luminance Vision Optometry, a family care practice in downtown Lafayette, California.

Dr. Fleming graduated with honors from U.C. Berkeley Optometry School in 2001. She also holds bachelor’s degrees from U.C. Berkeley in Molecular & Cell Biology and Vision Science. Dr. Fleming has been awarded the Dean’s Optometric Thesis award and the Alcon Contact Lens Excellence award.

Dr. Fleming’s passion for optometry is a natural combination of her personal interests in biology, health, and fashion. Outside the exam room, she is the creator and author of a personal style blog, Eye Like Fashion, which incorporates sunglasses with every outfit. Dr. Fleming also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying fit through cycling and weight training, discovering new restaurants, exploring the bay, and travelling.

Dr. Anna Lam

Dr. Anna Lam was raised in San Diego but now calls Oakland home. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Human Biology, Dr. Lam went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Her internships and clinical experiences include specialties in ocular disease, pediatrics and custom contact lenses. Dr. Lam is passionate about the treatment, management, and prevention of dry eye disease and eye aesthetics.

When she isn’t seeing patients, Dr. Lam is a cosmetic tattoo artist, specializing in techniques for eyebrows. She also enjoys spending her time with family and friends, traveling, and staying fit. She is working towards running a half marathon in every single state and has run four half marathons so far.

Dr. Lam joined Luminance Vision after 8 years in private practice. She is excited to meet you and provide compassionate and comprehensive eye care.
